Writhing

It was that hold your breath, wiggle your toes, and count to 10 kind of pain.

The kind that you can feel in the roots of your being.

It started in your ears, traveled down through your neck, your shoulders, your chest.

Then it made its way through your stomach, your groin, your legs, until it mercifully reached your feet, tingled away through your toes.

And then it began again.

And then you hold your breath, wiggle your toes, and count to 10.
